While textile industry faces strong international competition, its competitiveness is penalized by the weight of production taxes. UIT is working towards having these taxes reduced.

UIT also advocates the Collection Tax Credit, a tailor-made tool to help companies renew their collections of designs and models, and the Research Tax Credit, which is more widely used by professionals from the technical textile sector.

UIT's Tax Department is responsible for:

  • representing and defending the interests of companies in the textile sector before public authorities and within several professional organizations (MEDEF, France Industrie);
  • improving the competitiveness of companies, in particular by advocating lower production taxes and investment support measures;
  • deciphering and informing its members on tax news (bills, case law, changes in tax doctrine, etc.);
  • representing, at the request of a company, the profession within the Departmental Tax Commission.
